Corporate and manufacturing headquarters are located on a 5.5-acre site in Tecumseh, Michigan, roughly midway between Detroit and Toledo, Ohio. Our 24,000-sq.-ft. facility houses one of the most modern screw-manufacturing plants in North America, configured to produce quality melt-stream components, quickly and economically. Our Weingartner 10-axis screw whirling/milling system increases plant throughput dramatically and reduces the amount of time-consuming handwork required downstream.
The Glycon Product Development Center, located adjacent to the main plant, houses two injection-molding machines - a 350-ton Van Dorn and a 15-ton Boy - a custom-built, heavy-duty 2.5-inch, 24:1 extruder, along with a wide selection of screws, mixing sections and other lab equipment needed for resin testing, and process and tooling analysis. Processors are encouraged to visit the development center for demonstrations, and they also can use the lab equipment for prototyping, sampling or even short-run production.
